Happy Thanksgiving!
Fortunately, I’m dodging the proverbial family dinner by working this year, since the holiday falls in my shift this year. Unlike my previous job, when I get Christmas off in a month, I’ll get enough time off to travel. So, I’ll save visiting for that holiday.
This year, I set my National Novel Writing Month goal for the standard 50,000 words. Two days into it, my predicted completion date landed around November 10th.
So, I shot higher. I set a new goal at 65,000 and hit that on November 21st, achieving a personal record for the most written on a novel in a month.
But the story remains unfinished at 65k. So I will continue writing on it for the rest of the month. My new goals are to discover how much I can write in a month, and to have a complete first draft by the first week in December.
When I’ll have it ready for publication remains undetermined as I have another work in progress that requires completion before I lose the flavor of it. However, I will keep you all posted on the progress of both stories.
In the meantime, I scheduled a countdown sale for Ghosts of Texas and Coming Home beginning November 24th and running through November 30th. If you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, they’re available there as well. Follow the links below to check them out if you need a break from the holiday events.
Otherwise, enjoy your time with family, stay safe battling Black Friday crowds, write well and prosper!
